How does Ultherapy Prime work?

Is Ultherapy PRIME® safe?

What does the treatment feel like?

Is Ultherapy PRIME the same as HIFU?

Many people think HIFU and Ultherapy are identical, but they use different types of ultrasound.
In aesthetic medicine, two ultrasound technologies are used: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), primarily used for medical purposes
Micro-focused ultrasound (MFU), which delivers highly precise energy to specific layers of the skin
HIFU devices do not use real-time imaging. This means the practitioner cannot visualise the exact tissue layers being treated.

Can I return to work immediately after the treatment?

Yes. Ultherapy Prime requires no downtime. The skin may feel slightly warm or sensitive for a short time, but you can return to your normal activities straight away.

What is the recovery time?

Unlike many other treatments, such as laser or microneedling with radiofrequency, you can continue your usual routine immediately after Ultherapy.
Mild tenderness in the treated area can occur for a few days up to two weeks, which is a normal sign of tissue response.
We recommend avoiding heat-based activities – such as saunas, hot tubs and intense exercise – for a couple of days.
For the first week, use gentle, non-irritating skincare and avoid stronger products such as exfoliants, toners and acids.

What should I avoid before treatment?

A consultation with our nurse is required beforehand to ensure the treatment is appropriate for your skin.
There should be a minimum of 2 weeks after botulinum toxin treatments, 4–6 weeks after fillers and 6 months after thread lifting before undergoing Ultherapy.

Contraindications

We do not perform this treatment if there are open wounds, severe or cystic acne in the treatment area, active implants (such as pacemakers) or metal implants in the treatment area.
The treatment is not recommended for clients using anticoagulant medication, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or individuals with epilepsy, diabetes, herpes simplex, active skin disease, autoimmune disease or bleeding disorders.
