Dermalux® Tri-Wave LED

Dermalux Tri-Wave MD – the power of light for skin wellbeing

Dermalux Tri-Wave MD is a medical-grade LED light therapy device that uses three precisely selected wavelengths – blue, red and near-infrared light – to rejuvenate the skin in a natural and safe way.

The light stimulates cellular energy production (ATP synthesis), supports regeneration and strengthens the skin’s protective functions without discomfort or downtime. The result is a brighter, more balanced and refreshed complexion – often visible after just a few sessions.

General

LED light therapy has been an essential part of our treatments for many years.
We are proud to be the first clinic in Finland to introduce the elite of LED technology: Dermalux® Tri-Wave Gen II.

How the treatment works
Dermalux Tri-Wave MD is a medical-grade LED treatment that uses three precisely selected wavelengths: blue, red and near-infrared light.
The light stimulates cellular energy production (ATP), supports regeneration and activates the skin’s natural repair processes – completely painlessly and with no downtime.

Treatment experience
The treatment feels warm, soothing and deeply relaxing – many describe it as “meditation for the skin”.
Dermalux can be performed as a stand-alone treatment or combined with other aesthetic procedures such as microneedling, mesotherapy or injection treatments to support and speed up recovery.

The new-generation Dermalux® Tri-WWave Gen II is the most powerful device within both the Dermalux range and the wider LED market. In addition to its advanced energy output, its treatment outcomes stand apart from other LED devices.
A course of treatments is generally recommended. Treatment plans typically include 4–8 sessions. We also use LED therapy to enhance the results of other procedures. However, LED therapy is not automatically included in any treatment. If you wish to combine it with another service, please book it separately as an additional treatment.

FAQ's

How does LED light therapy work?

LED therapy supports the skin in several beneficial ways. It helps increase collagen production by stimulating fibroblast activity, which supports firmness and elasticity. The treatment also enhances circulation between the blood and skin cells, protects cells from damage and helps improve overall skin tone.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

Dermalux is suitable for all skin types and all seasons. It is an excellent option when the skin needs:
- rauhoitusta tulehduksiin ja akneen
- helpotusta punoitukseen ja herkkyyteen
- kirkastusta samealle iholle
- tukea ikääntymismuutoksiin ja juonteisiin
- nopeampaa palautumista muiden hoitojen jälkeen

When Tri-Wave MD is not suitable

Tri-Wave MD treatment cannot be performed in cases of epilepsy or light-induced seizures, Porphyria, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), polymorphic light eruption, photosensitive eczema, hypomelanism, or active cancers. The suitability of the treatment should also be considered if there are eye conditions or concerns, such as glaucoma, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration or recent laser eye surgery. Regular use of St John’s wort in high doses may increase light sensitivity, and new skincare products containing ingredients such as retinol can make the skin react unpredictably while it adjusts. The treatment is not recommended for clients under the age of 16.

Is there any downtime after Dermalux® Tri-Wave LED treatment?

After LED light therapy, you may notice mild and temporary redness. This is a normal reaction caused by increased cellular activity, and it settles quickly. You can return to your normal day immediately after the treatment.

Is the treatment safe for the eyes?

Protective goggles must always be worn during the treatment. Many clients also find it more comfortable to keep their eyes closed under the goggles. Even with protection, you may still perceive the brightness of the light, which is completely normal. The LED device is positioned close to the face during treatment.

Is LED light therapy suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. LED therapy is very well suited for sensitive skin, but it is always best to confirm suitability during a consultation.

Can the treatment be done during pregnancy?

Unfortunately, we do not perform LED light therapy during pregnancy.

How often should LED treatments be taken?

The number of sessions needed for optimal results varies individually. We typically recommend an initial course of 4–8 sessions, carried out approximately twice per week. After this, maintenance sessions can be taken as needed. During your consultation, we will provide tailored treatment recommendations based on your skin concerns.

Can LED therapy be combined with other treatments?

Yes. LED therapy pairs extremely well with many other treatments, such as microneedling, mesotherapy or HydraFacial. You can add LED as an additional service when booking your appointment.
