Dermal Fillers

Dermal filler treatments – shape and enhance the face’s natural contours while helping to smooth the appearance of lines.

Dermal fillers can restore lost volume, soften and fill lines and folds, contour the cheeks and jawline, and enhance and rejuvenate the lips.
Many people worry that the results may look unnatural, but when carried out with expertise, a high-quality filler integrates seamlessly with your own features. It is important to remember that dermal fillers are temporary treatments for age-related changes in the skin, and long-lasting outcomes also rely on other treatments that support overall skin health.

General

As we age, we naturally begin to lose facial fat. This volume is what supports the cheeks and keeps them lifted. We also lose collagen, which provides structural support, and as this foundation weakens, the tissues gradually descend. When the cheek area shifts downward, it can create additional concerns such as heaviness in the lower face. We always assess the face as a whole and often use a combination of fillers across different areas to achieve a balanced, natural-looking result. Improving one area alone may draw more attention to others, so we always assess the whole face to achieve natural, harmonious results.

Because we consider the entire facial structure, we may sometimes recommend treating an area different from the one you initially had in mind.
We never inject more product than we believe is appropriate for your face and anatomy, as excessive volume can lead to an unnatural result or place unnecessary pressure on the skin. If further volume is needed, we typically recommend returning for an additional treatment after one month.
Dermal fillers are not suitable for everyone, and there may be situations where we advise against treatment.

FAQ's

What can dermal fillers achieve?

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat, and many visible signs of ageing are related to this loss of volume.
Dermal fillers help soften facial lines and restore fullness and smoothness to the skin. They can replace lost volume, enhance the lips and contribute to a more youthful overall appearance.

Which dermal filler do you use?

We use Juvéderm® and Belotero® fillers.

How is the treatment performed?

We may use a needle or a cannula during the treatment, and often a combination of both. This allows us to achieve the most natural-looking results.

How many syringes will I need?

Most filler syringes contain 1 ml of product, which is roughly one-fifth of a teaspoon.
The required amount depends on the area being treated and your individual starting point.

Typical amounts include:
Lips: 1 syringe
Mid-face: 2–4 syringes
Chin and jawline: 2–4 syringes

For full-face treatments, depending on age and skin condition, 4–10 syringes may be needed.
Product needs vary, but younger clients often require less volume.

Does a cannula hurt?

A cannula is a blunt-tipped tool that allows us to place filler over a wider area. Treatments performed with a cannula are generally not painful, and the risk of bruising is typically lower.

Who performs my treatment?

We believe that injectable treatments should only be carried out by trained healthcare professionals.

Before the treatment

Please arrive without makeup.
A consultation visit by a nurse is necessary before treatment, where the treatment, course of treatment and aftercare instructions are reviewed.
The consultation also ensures the suitability of the treatment for your skin concerns.

After your treatment

During your consultation, we will guide you through everything you need to know before and after your filler treatment.
You should avoid very intensive exercise, heavy sweating, sun exposure, tanning beds and extreme weather for 24–48 hours. Do not apply makeup for 24 hours. Avoid all facial treatments for at least 14 days.
As with any injectable, temporary redness, swelling or irritation can occur.
Do not massage or touch the treated area unless specifically instructed.
Chemical peels, microdermabrasion, IPL or laser treatments, as well as waxing or sugaring, should be avoided for at least two weeks or until the skin has fully recovered.
